Showroom

Our showroom is open to the public and we welcome visitors! The showroom carries a large selection of our products however, we can’t guarantee that what you are looking for will be in stock. If you do not find what you are looking for we would be happy to put it on order and ship it to your destination. We accept Visa, MC, Discover and American Express.

Production Time

All Laura Zindel ceramic products are made to order in our Vermont studio. Our work is always made to order by hand. Because of the wide variety of our products we do not carry stock and orders typically take 1-3 weeks to ship. Your ship date is based on the quantity and type of items ordered. You will receive an email with an estimated ship date within 48 hours of placing your order.

We appreciate your patience and understanding of our process and the time that it takes to make your order.. just for you.

Shipping Information

All orders within the continental U.S. are shipped via FedEx ground and should arrive 3-7 business days from date of shipment. Please note that FedEx does not ship to PO or APO addresses.

All orders will be carefully packaged and insured, however we are not responsible for theft or damage to packages once delivered. If you do not want FedEx to leave a package at your door you must contact us to alert FedEx that a signature is required for delivery.

Because of the size and weight of our work, we do not offer overnight, 2-day, or weekend deliveries. Please contact us if you need to expedite your order and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Payment Information

We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express. We do not accept personal checks.  If you would like to change or cancel your order you may do so up until the time your items have been shipped. If you wish to return or exchange your order after shipment, please see our return policies noted below. Once your order has shipped you will be sent a tracking number from Fed Ex to your e-mail address. The order confirmation that is e-mailed to you when your order is placed is your receipt.

A receipt will not be included with your shipment. 

Privacy and Security

We do not share personal information about you with anyone for any reason. The information we collect includes your name, e-mail address, physical mailing address, phone number, and order history.

We only use your personal information to communicate with you directly. We do not store your credit card information.

If you open an account and do not wish to receive promotional e-mails from us please use your option to opt out.

Gift Items

Gift Certificates: We offer gift cards in various denominations. Gift cards are shipped in a Laura Zindel gift box according to our shipping policies.

A shipping and handling charge of $4.00 will be added to all gift card orders. If you would like to order a gift certificate, please click here.

We do not offer gift-wrapping, but will be happy to include a Laura Zindel gift card with a personal inscription from you. Receipt of purchase will not be included in the box.

Sales Tax

Sales tax will be automatically applied to orders placed only within the state of Vermont.

Returns and Exchanges

We want you to be happy with your purchase. If you would like to return or exchange your purchase please contact customer service within 5 days of the date of delivery to get a return authorization.

Please allow 1-2 weeks for the processing of your return.

We do not refund shipping costs on returns and exchanges.

Special orders and sale items are not accepted for return or exchange. Seconds from our annual showroom sale are not returnable.

Laura Zindel products purchased in a store location must be returned and exchanged to the store where they were purchased. We cannot replace or exchange items purchased at a store.

To make a return or an exchange

Please contact us within 5 days from the date of delivery and we will provide a return authorization. Please include your name, address, contact information, date of purchase, and order number. Also include a note indicating the problem and specify if you would like a refund or an exchange. If you are exchanging your item you will be contacted for a credit card # for return shipping costs. LZD is not responsible for the shipping fees for returns or exchanges except for items that are received damaged or in error.

Laura Zindel Design is not responsible for items that are lost or damaged during return shipping. You must insure and track your packages. We strongly advise that you check the insurance policy of the carrier that you choose to return your item. Each carrier holds a unique policy and can vary depending on the item you are returning and on how you package and insure your item.

Damage

If your item arrives damaged please contact customer service within 5 days of delivery and we will be happy to send you a replacement at no charge. We will need your order number and a photo of the breakage to process your replacement. You must retain the original packaging until your authorization has been processed.

Warranty

We warranty our products for up to 6 months from purchase for proven defects in manufacture. If you have any issues with our products please email or call customer service with details and we will help resolve the issue.

Product Care

Everyone at Laura Zindel Design strives to make best ceramic products possible. During each stage of our process your piece travels through the many hands of our skilled artisans. Our materials and our process are unique to Laura Zindel Design and every piece that goes out our door is made to order. During each part of our process from fabrication glazing and decorating your item has gone through our kilns and fired 3 times. Because of this process variations can occur and each piece will be slightly different. While many factors contribute to these variations, the reason we are most proud of is that the materials we use are from the earth and the people that make our products have a passion for what they do.

The final and one of the most important to us, is that our packers carefully inspect your piece for quality before it is wrapped and placed in the box that arrives at your door.

Below are helpful ways to keep your Laura Zindel products healthy while in your care.

Handmade items are functional works of art, crafted from earthenware and glazed with non-toxic low-fire glazes. These products do not like to be heated and cooled quickly and should not be put in the dishwasher, microwave or oven. These items are designed for food serving only and need to be handled with loving care. They should be hand washed with non-abrasives in warm soapy water. Please read our tips below to insure the long life of your handmade pieces.

Dinnerware items are made from white china and are designed for every day use. They can be put in the dishwasher and the microwave.

Please keep in mind that while our dinnerware is quite durable, it is still made from clay and can be damaged if dropped or knocked about. Often, flaws created during impact will not be detectable immediately. Impact flaws can develop into a crack or break with use over time.  The dishwasher is also hard on ceramic surfaces and can dull your pieces over repeated washing. Please consider the tips below to ensure that your dinnerware has a long and shiny life.

Dishwasher: Use a non-abrasive soap low in citric acid. Rinse before loading, avoid stacking, or dinnerware touching during washing.

Wash on gentle cycle. 

Microwave: Use the low setting to gently reheat drinks or to warm food for 1-2 minutes. Do not use your dinnerware to cook, defrost food or heat cold beverages directly from the refrigerator. Caution should be taken when heating beverages high in fat such as milk and cream, which will get very hot very quickly in a microwave. Take care in removing items from the microwave they will absorb heat and be hot to the touch.

Oven: We recommend that you only use your dinnerware to warm food. Dinnerware items should not be put in an oven above 450 degrees F and should be warmed and cooled slowly.

*Pie plates can be used to bake pies in the oven up to 450 degrees F.

*All Laura Zindel ceramics products are food safe and made with non-toxic materials. They are not to be used for food preparation or food storage. Avoid contact with foods high in citric acid and other deep colored foods for long periods of time such as berries or beets.

Store in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight.

How do I know if my piece is Handmade or Dinnerware?

Handmade items have our logo stamped into the clay on the bottom of each piece. If you run your finger over the logo you will be able to feel the logo pressed into the clay surface.

Dinnerware items have our logo fired on the bottom of each piece in the same way that our designs are fired to the clay surface. If you run your finger over the logo on the bottom it will be smooth to the touch.
